MyLife Services are a suite of extensible value-added services that sit on top of the MyLife Platform described in the previous section. These value-added services use the social network infrastructure created using the MyLife platform.

The basic SmartMS™ MyLife solution comes bundled with the following services:

• MyLife Status
• FlashPoke
• SMS Broadcast
• SMS Poll
• SMS Event Reminder
• Schedule 'N' Surprise
• Self-Destruct SMS

Telco operators can add new custom services or integrate other third-party services from external content providers into the basic MyLife Platform.

MyLife Status is similar to the "microblogging" services that are currently popular. It allows users to set tell their friends what they are currently doing now and allow them to follow every change of their status.

Users can update their statuses using SMS, WAP or Web interfaces provided. If the user's MyLife account is also linked to her Facebook account (using MyLife's Facebook connector), her Facebook status will also be updated concurrently.

Friends can choose to become a follower of a user's status by "subscribing" to it. Any update to the status will be immediately to followers as Flash SMS messages.

This is a simple utility, accessible through the user's WAP or Web Portal, allowing him to "nudge" or "poke" his friends using Flash SMS. A FlashPoke is a non-intrusive way of getting the B-party's attention without having to send an SMS or to make a voice-call.

This is a useful utility for users to broadcast SMS messages to members of his mobile groups. The user's message will be sent as an MT SMS to the selected group members from the shortcode, with a header informing the recipients that it is a "SMS Broadcast from user-name (mobile number) using MyLife".

SMS Poll is a service that allows users to harness the collective wisdom of his contacts. It allows users to pose a question, with 3 user-defined answers (A, B and C) to members of a chosen group. An SMS with the posed question is sent to all members of the group, together with a unique poll ID.

The poll creator also determines a duration by which a poll will close. Recipients of the poll question simply have to reply to the shortcode with a simple keyword together with the answer.

When all recipients have responded or when the duration of the poll has ended, MyLife will calculate the results and all participants will receive an SMS informing of the results.

The SMS Poll service is a fun way for users to interact with his social groups, enabling group decision making, not to mention ensuring complete transparency!

This service enables users to set events by sending iCal/vCal entries directly from their phones and subsequently share reminders to that event with his groups. An SMS reminder will be sent to all the group members at a pre-defined time prior to the event.

This service enables users to "surprise" their friends or loved with a scheduled delivery of content (e.g. an MMS greeting) at a predefined time and date using iCal/vCal entries sent directly from their phones. Users can choose content from their own storage of SMS and MMS or they can pick from the many public third-party content that are published on the MyLife Portal.

If you wish to send text messages that you don't want the recipient to keep or forward to other people, Self-destruct SMS is the way to do it. Messages sent as Self-Destruct SMS will only be viewable by the recipient for a a sender-defined period of time (e.g. 10 seconds), before it "self-destructs". Once it self-destructs, no trace of the message will be left on the recipient's phone!

Note: Self-destruct SMS is an optional value-added service that is not included in the basic suite of MyLife services. It can also be deployed as an independent value-added messaging service, without the MyLife Platform.
